Our award winning safety helmet, the GH400, features Koroyd’s advanced impact technology as the inside protective layer between the shell of the helmet and the user. Why have we chosen Koroyd over traditional EPS foam? Because when EPS foam is compressed by an impact, it becomes stiffer, resulting in more energy from the impact being transferred to the head of the user. The Koroyd material used in the GH400 crumples instantly and consistently on impact, reducing the energy being transferred, and protects the user better. The engineered structure of the Koroyd material has many benefits. The most important one is the ability to absorb the energy of any impact at a constant rate, decreasing the chances of injury for the user. Another benefit is minimal heat accumulation, because the structure of the Koroyd material is composed of the world’s thinnest welded tubes, enabling heat from the user’s head to vent out of the helmet.
