I live at Lake Tahoe, I have had my 1st pair for over 15 years. I use them snow blowing, snow hiking and to prevent ice falls. My 1st pair broke this past winter at the base while snow hiking over rocks, downed trees and you name it. I was able to remove two cleats and with an army knife repair the damage and was able to get back down a steep icy trail. I went on line the same day and bought two additional pairs for me and addition pair for my wife. Having lived here for 47 years at 6800ft and having tried the other brands, do not waist your money. These are great. Didn't know I had them on when I walked on the ice we have had lately. Walked 4 miles in the snow without a problem. I've tried almost every product and these are the first to work: stayed on my boots, light weight, easy to put on boots, was confident they were there and not somewhere back on the trail.
