Besides non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. Causing over 40,000 deaths in 2008 alone, it is the second most common cause of cancer death among white, black, Asian, and Native American women.
While some women are at a higher risk than others for developing the cancer, there are several things that can be done to prevent or detect it in early stages, such as routine mammograms starting at age 40, and notifying your doctor of any family history of the disease.
More research needs to be performed in the quest for the cure, and of course, this takes funding. Online Stores, Inc and many of our vendors are proud to help contribute to the cure by the sale of several pink products on our Safety Girl and Discount Safety Gear stores.
Great improvements have been made in the treatment of this cancer as a direct result of research, allowing the number of survivors to continue to rise.
While 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and over 180,000 were diagnosed last year, there are currently 2.5 million survivors living in the US! Your purchases of pink products, and donations to programs like Lee’s National Denim Day will help the number of survivors to continue to rise!

Pink isn’t only a feminine color. Pink, with a ribbon, is now the universal symbol for the support of breast cancer research. Many companies with such pink ribbon products donate money to breast cancer research. At Safety Girl, this includes various pink safety products ranging from keychain pepper spray and flashlights to various tools and tool kits colored pink. When one or more of these pink ribbon products is purchased, a certain percentage of the price is donated to breast cancer research. Whether you choose a pink flashlight on this page or a pink and black tool kit, a percentage of that price will be going toward breast cancer research.
